Basic Ideas
The St Jo’s website is meant to be a community site, just as the church is a community church!
The first idea is that many people can add the information that keeps us all in the know about what’s happening across the church, and we’re not dependent on one person bearing the entire load of keeping it up to date.
The second idea is that discussion, titbits, and almost anything else can be shared.
Both of these ideas rely on contributions! So you need to know how to contribute.
To do this you’ll need a login to the site which means you have to register (there’s a button for this on the right-hand side too). Fill in the form and then check your email – you’ll get a confirmation of your login details and also a link you have to click on to activate your login. It’s a basic protection that you have a valid and unique email address.
Once you’ve got your login you can start contributing!
The first thing to try is to add a comment to an existing item. You can do this anywhere – even on this page, if you want to add your own comments that will make it easier for others to follow these instructions, or to tell somebody that there’s a problem with them, or just to say thanks for such fantastic instruction.
To comment, find the “Comments” link under any of the posts. It looks like this:
Click on the link (“1 Comment >>” in the example above, in bold type). You’ll be told (if you’re not already logged in!) that you need to be logged in. Click the “logged in” link and log in using your username and password – and then just type in the “leave a comment” box. Here’s an example:
Hit “Submit Comment”. And you’re done!
Now you’re getting ready to do Posts and Pages. More on those on other help pages, as they’re done.
