Waiting for Christ
Carl Rudd | December 8, 2009Advent is a time of waiting, waiting for the promise of God’s Glory. We have seen the days grow shorter and darkness extend its hold on the day. We look to the coming light, the birth of Christ.
Remembering Christ’s birth this Christmas, will be the beginning of new chapters for us all. The waiting is almost complete, and as a family we are very excited to be coming to join you all. I believe there is lots of excellent ministry happening, growing and building God’s kingdom through St Jo’s. Aileen, Lydia and I look forward to joining with you and the story of St Jo’s, hearing more of God’s plans for the coming years, and walking in them. We are so very thankful for all your prayers, and the encouragement many of you have already been to us. Christmas Eve twenty years ago saw the first use of the ‘new’ church. The church has grown from strength to strength, and
“yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you, he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him.” Isa 30:18.
Whilst waiting on God we also look forward to the Lord’s return in glory. We all have journeys to complete. In the birth of Christ, the essence of Christmas is to be shared with everyone. Christmas is an amazing opportunity to share something of the joy you receive from God, inviting someone to join you in these celebrations. Time to see God’s kingdom grow in strength and depth.
Every blessing in Christ
Carl
