Community Fun Day- Saturday 19th September
geoff.jellis | July 31, 2009Thanks to a kind donation from the Church Urban Fund, we at St Jo’s have the opportunity to say goodbye to summer and hello to Autumn with a bang. On Saturday the 19th of September betweeen 12-3 we will be opening the doors of the church to the people of Merry Hill and showing off all the things that happen in the church. And when you think about it an awful lot does happen, from weekly groups for the elderly, childrens groups to line dancing.
While we can’t promise to feed the 5,000 we will however feed the hungry shoppers at Merry Hill with a free barbecue, cafe and other tasty goodies. Whilst keeping them entertained with a host of music performances, childrens entertainment and talks. Plus a bouncy castle for those who wanting bouncing.
We still have a couple of gaps in the schedule, so if anyone has any great ideas regarding singers, talkers, actors and performers please get in touch.
Now its getting closer to the day we also need some volunteers to serve food (come on chaps there’s a barbecue to meet our primal cooking urges!) but also including non-barbecue food and to supervise parts of the church e.g. bouncy castle, garden, cafe area etc
Please give me a call on 07792 908584 if you can help.
Many thanks
Geoff
